Powervault TL2000 Code 5C 5C SCD:1
My Dell Powervault TL2000 Tape drive started throwing error today and tape backup jobs have all failed.
The drive reports the following Status Code: HE: drive broken: needs repair. Code: 5C 5C SCD: 1
Unfortunately a previous team let support expire on this device and I just inherited it. I'm a little stuck on what this error code actually means as I cant seem to find a good explanation.
My Tape Library (Product ID 3573-TL) is running firmware version E.10 / 3.20e
Bootcode Firmware Revision 0.80
Drive Firmware Revision G9N1
I have done a system reboot on it but that did not clear the error and I have been able to get Library and Drive dump logs from it.
The latest Library Logs is as follows:

I've also ran the "Perform Diagnostics > System Test" on the device and it reported that the System Test had passed.

Md 3200i problem
Hi guys,
I had an accident with my cooling system and some water dropped on my md3200i.
Seems that both raid controllers are dead, cause no hdd are spun up on start, mgmt not working, console not working.
Got new board for one controller. Mgmt port goes up fine, but gets no ip, console is working. At the moment all drives all pulled out.
I'm attaching console printout.
Second question - does new controller can recover all arrays i had on my drives? Maybe i should switch SD card to old one ?
MD3600f controller is locked down due to detected
I will in consloe to reset ....but i get this message
please can help me

MD3200i admin password reset
Hello,
I need to reset admin password on MD3200i. I know that I have two options to do this: 1. Serial Cable, 2. Reset button on RAID Controller. I don't have any PC with serial port so I need to go with option 2. My questions are: If I have two RAID controllers do I need to use reset button on both of them? Does this reset button do only password reset without touch any other configuration? I'm asking because it is a live data storage and I don't want to lose any configuration. Thank you.

Problem with ST1800MM0128
We are trying to install HD Seagate ST1800MM0128 on the server, but I get this incompatibility message. I did not find any firmware updates for this model in the Dell files. Has anyone ever faced this problem?
Important: We currently work with 12 HD ST300MP0004, although it is not located in the last February file, the HD works correctly.
Thanks
How do I go from dual controller to single on an MD3200i?
Hi there,
After a recent power outage, controller 0 in our dual controller MD3200i shows as being removed. After swapping it with controller 1 it looks like we have a dead controller. I don't need high availability on this device anymore but we would like to get it working as a single controller array. How do I remove the dead controller and configure the array to return the array to optimal status? Thanks for your help!

Incompatible disk with PowerVault MD3200i
Hi all,
I have a Dell PowerVault md3200i with 6 disk SAS 2Tb.
I purchase 5 new DISK SAS 7.2 Tp/m 4Tb SEGATE ST4000NM005 with firmware MS05.
a message is shown (Incompatible disk), event_viewer: Physical physical disk has unsupported capacity.
This type of disk is compatible with md3200I ?
Upgrade of firmware can solve this ?
Thanks.

PowerVault TL2000 - more than one backup?
We have a PowerVault TL2000. Is it possible to have it running more than one backup at a time? It seems to be sequential and we have too much data to backup overnight.
Daisy Chain
I am currently using the TL2000 tape drive and have both drives running and varied times during the day and night. I have a standalone tape drive as well. We are needing to hook up the standalone but I have only two minisas ports on my server. Is it possible to daisy chain the two TL2000 drives so it frees up one of my ports on my server?
Using PERC H830 with PowerVault MD1200
I have a server with a Dell PERC H830 SAS RAID adapter already in it. It's hooked up to two non-Dell RAID enclosure right nows. I'm looking to replace one of those enclosures with an MD1200.
The problem is Dell says the MD1200 only works with the PERC H810 SAS RAID card. This makes no sense whatsoever. The H830 is 12Gb/s SAS. The MD1200 is 6Gb/s SAS. SAS is backwards compatible by design so there's no reason the H830 won't step down to the slower speed of the MD1200. Indeed, the enclosures currently hooked up to the H830 are both 6Gb/s SAS arrays so it will work.
Dell is giving me a bunch of mumbo-jumbo on this. They claim they need to know what server the H830 is in before they can answer the question. What does that have to do with anything? The MD1200 only sees the H830. It doesn't know anything at all about the server nor can it know. If the H830 works in the server then that's all that should matter. It's not like I'm keeping a secret about the server but more me being offended by the attempt to obfuscate the issue.
Further, the H830 is little more than a re-badged LSI/Avago SAS RAID card. I contacted them and asked if their equivalent SAS3108-based controller (which is identical to the H830) will work with an MD1200. They said absolutely.
So will someone at Dell please speak intelligently about this? If it's just that Dell hasn't tested an H830 + MD1200 combo then say so. Don't say "it won't work" if you don't know it won't work.
And if nobody at Dell has tested an MD1200 with an H830...why haven't you? It's not like this is an impossible combination a customer might want.
Somebody at Dell please speak up before I go to another vendor.
TL2000 using up new cleaning tape in a couple hours
Two new cleaning tapes in our TL2000 were reported end of life in a matter of hours. One drive now reported as clean, but the other is still in need of cleaning.
Firmware up to date.
Any help appreciated.
Thank you
Two PERC 9 card in one host system

Is there any conflict or issues for such configuration?
Thanks and Best Regards
MD1200 connected to replacement server
We have an MD1200 connected to an H800 in an old server running Windows 2008. Would it be possible to access the existing volumes with it connected to an H830 in a new server running Windows 2016?
Thanks,

TL24ISCSIXSAS 1GB ISCSI Connection problem
Hello,
I have a trouble with my TL2000 ISCSI/SAS bridge that when I connect the CAT5e cable between laptop and any Ethernet connector at the ISCSI only the right led (Yellow) light and the left led (green) didn't light and I can't access the ISCSI.
is this a problem in the hardware or something in the configuration.
note, I try reset the whole unit through the front panel of the TL but nothing new.
I hope someone could help, thanks.
MD3420 SAS dual controller Ethernet set up and mgmt. IP requirements
I looked through every manual on setting this up and haven't been able to find the most basic and obvious thing...
I see on each controller there is an Ethernet port for mgmt. So right out of the gate I assume I need 2 IPs right?
but do I need a 3rd, cluster IP to point to when I want to log in and manage the array? or am I forced to log into each controller to provision storage? or do I simply configure an IP for each controller, and connect to one of the 2, which would then allow me to provision to both controllers.. some insight into how this works would be nice to have..
I haven't been able to find anything in any documentation anywhere on this.
Can someone please pick up the slack for Dell's documentation, who's writers must be assuming people know this info already about the product..
and if there is some documentation out there that has this detail please publish the link.
