Lots of questions about the TL2000 and iSCSI card

I have a Dell Powervault TL2000 with an IBM 3580-5H LTO 5 tape drive and I would like to add a Dell iSCSI card, but I have a ton of questions that I can't seem to find the answer to:

1) What is the EXACT procedure for adding an iSCSI card to a TL2000 that never had one installed?

2) Do both network ports need to be connected for it to be accessed at 10.10.10.10?

3) Does the SAS port need to have a drive connected for the iSCSI card to respond to 10..10.10.10?

4) Which network adapter (close the SAS port or the one next to it) on the iSCSI adapter is used for web management at 10.10.10.10 - or doesn't it matter?

5) When you initially plug in the iSCSI card, will the TL2000 recognize the card in any way? Does it show any confirmation on the tape library's web management page that the card was added?

6) Do I need to flash the firmware of the tape library for it to recognize the iSCSI card, or is a completely independant device?

7) Is it common practice for network admins to change the default IP address of the iSCSI adapters? If so, what would be a common IP address range that would be used?

8 Does the iSCSI card respond to pings? Will it respond to port scans of 80(http) and 3260(iSCSI)?

9) Does the iSCSI card show any network activity when it boots up, or does it only respond to requests?

10) If you had to scan the network to find the iSCSI card (if the default IP address of 10.10.10.10 was changed to something else) - what program do you recommend? Better yet, if you did scan your network to find the iSCSI card - what software did you use?

I'd love to hear from someone who has personal experience adding an iSCSI card to a Powervault TL2000/4000 because I'm on my second iSCSI card and it seems to be doing the same thing as the first one I thought was defective - nothing. I'm not sure if my TL2000 is defective; if the second card is bad, or I'm just an idiot with 36 years of professional IT experience and I'm missing something simple...
