I am currently trying to use the MD3060e as an expansion enclosure for a MD3860i. I updated the firmware on both enclosures to levels that that show this setup as supported in the release notes. I followed the cabeling instructions from the MD3860i Deployment Guide. However, i get an amber light on the front of the MD3860i, and the Recovery Guru says that both of the EMMs are uncertified and that the expansion enclosure is unsupported. The product is still listed as a Dell MD3060e in the Storage Manager.
If i "hotplug" the expansion shelf into the SAN, all the drives will show up and I was even able to update the expansion's firmware through the Storage Manager (the uncertified EMM errors are still there). Because all the hardware appears to be working fine, i am beginning to think that i am doing something wrong myself. Any help or insight would be appreciated.
