I have been assigned to support a newly acquired company that uses Dell PowerVault MD3200's. We have a bad SAS drive in slot 4. We purchased a new drive on Amazon with the same Product ID. Yesterday, a tech, removed the old drive and replaced it with the new one. The Recovery Guru is stating that the disk is not certified and it that it must be a Dell supported physical disk. I also noticed that there is a process to adding and removing disks.
So my questions are....
1. Where can I find a list of supported disks for this array? Or is there something I need to do for the array to accept this disk.
2. Now that the drive has been removed, without following the proper process, how can I remove the disk properly? When I right click on the drive, the "replace hard drive" option is grayed out.
